Biologist and microbiologist at Universidad de Los Andes. Now, I am studying the master's degree in biological sciences with emphasis in microbiology. I have been part of Center for Research in Microbiology and Tropical Parasitology (CIMPAT) since 2016 and my particular interest is focused on research on eco-epidemiology of parasitic diseases, especially in Chagas disease and Leishmaniasis. I am currently developing a joint project with the International Center for Training and Medical Research (CIDEIM) on mucosal immunity in patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis by the parasite Leishmania and Viannia sp.
Our Center’s vision is to improve the quality of life and the health of people suffering from neglected tropical diseases, conducting research aimed to determine the risk factors involved in the diseases transmission to humans and animals, the parasite biology and pathogenesis.
