I am biologist with emphasis on entomology. I am interested in the study of blood-feeding insects, those involved in the transmission of diseases and common ectoparasites especially from the order Diptera, their taxonomy and ecology. I am particularly interested in studying their interactions with other species, besides their population dynamics (temporal and spatial) and its relation with environmental variations. Currently, I am beginning the study of interactions between vectors and vertebrates in areas with potential presence of arboviruses through the analysis of antagonistic networks.
Our Center’s vision is to improve the quality of life and the health of people suffering from neglected tropical diseases, conducting research aimed to determine the risk factors involved in the diseases transmission to humans and animals, the parasite biology and pathogenesis.
