I am a Bacteriologist from the Universidad de Boyacá and master's degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. During my master studies, I worked especially on the analytical performance of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and real-time PCR (qPCR) for the detection Leishmania species DNA in Colombia. Currently, I am a professional in research projects in the molecular detection area of parasites and arboviruses from vector insects and some mammals. My research interests are new molecular detection techniques and arbovirus ecoepidemiology.
Our Center’s vision is to improve the quality of life and the health of people suffering from neglected tropical diseases, conducting research aimed to determine the risk factors involved in the diseases transmission to humans and animals, the parasite biology and pathogenesis.
