I am a Biologist from Universidad de Los Andes. My research interests are on disease ecology and spatial analysis of zoonotic transmission. I am currently working in collecting mammals and doing molecular analysis to identify which pathogens (Trypasonomatids) are associated to these organisms. Also, I work with public datasets in order to do spatial analysis of mammals distribution in Colombia and how we can relate these with emerging diseases such as Leishmaniasis and Chagas.
Our Center’s vision is to improve the quality of life and the health of people suffering from neglected tropical diseases, conducting research aimed to determine the risk factors involved in the diseases transmission to humans and animals, the parasite biology and pathogenesis.
